Crisis Intervention Training

Crisis Intervention Training is the much sought-after course to teach de-escalation techniques for community emergency responders. CIT helps responding agencies react more appropriately to situations involving mental illness or developmental disability.

This training program includes classroom work, demonstrations and student participation that will make each participating responder comfortable and capable during the first critical moments of a crisis situation. Recognition of escalating behavior as well as responder interventions are covered in clear, concise manners with the welfare and safety of all involved as primary focus. Disengagement skills are also demonstrated and practiced in this seminar to prepare staff to safely remove themselves from a dangerous situation.

Two courses are offered, one is a 4 hour awareness while the 16 hour course provides each student with certification in Crisis Intervention that incorporates safe realism training utilizing role play.
